Concert at the Boonies this Friday

This was on a bulletin posted by the band Gunmetal Grey. Sorry to copy it but I know not all people on here have myspaces. And it seemed kind of important.

June 5th - Reminding you all once again. Everyone is invited, so please be there

It will be in the Persimmon area of Monroe County. We will be getting some directions up on the band's myspace TOMORROW! - add us if you haven't already done so

There will be two other bands besides ourselves. One being " The Book Club " and another band out of Glasgow.

Please bring money, The Book Club will be selling their Demo. They will be bringing a bulk quantity to sell =].

Also..
We have planned for a massive bonfire and food. Drinks will also be available for purchase since it will more than likely be pretty hot out as usual.

Drinks - $1.00
Hotdogs - $1.00
Chips - $ .50

The show will probably start around sunset or a little before. We ask you to tell all of your friends, bring them, bring more. Make more friends between now and then, bring them. We're shooting for over 100 people =]. It will without a doubt be a lot of fun. Hope to see everyone there. Contact any of us with any questions.

Jason said that Kiersten (i'm not sure how to spell her name) and Troy were going to quit, so that would make them not have a drummer or guitarist. I really don't know. I'm sure when Jason gets back tomorrow he'll post in here.

That sucks, but I doubt they'll quit making music. Mi Kull is determined. They'll still have vocals, a bassist, a guitarist (Jay), and keyboard... They could write softer songs until they found a new drummer.

They shouldn't quit. If they do I'll have to hunt them down and destroy them. SLOWLY. =)

Honestly, that's a lame and selfish thing to do... I mean, we're writing music and the two are conspiring behind our backs? I can't stand it. They quit marching band, they quit concert band... they will not quit The Book Club. A secind guitar isn't important (is it bad I consider keyboard more important than rhythm guitar?), but drummers are hard to come by.

I mean, we have drummers at school, but they're kinda lame and assholes. And like most other drummers... they're pretty stupid.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Another guitar is ok, but you don't really need it as much as a drummer. Lol, you could set the keyboard to percussion.

Directions to Concert - Friday, June 5th

Directions: Starting from Walmart Supercenter in Tompkinsville Kentucky -

1. Head north on Edmonton Rd/KY-163 toward Rowland Ln for 4.6 miles

2. Turn right at KY-1049/Radio Station Rd - Continue for 1.9 Miles

3. Turn left at KY-1520/Persimmon Rd - Here you should be at a little store and will be able to follow easy to see, obvious signs the rest of the way to the concert -

Well... the concert went ok. I was able to sell 2 cds for The Book Club. I have to say though, Gunmetal Grey wasn't that great; I'm glad they let The Book Club play and stuff, but I really don't see why so many people liked their music. I wasn't paying much attention (but I was listening, there wasn't a possible way to not listen ) and all their songs, with the exception of the last one and the bass solo, sounded the same. If someone wouldn't have told me how many they played, I could have thought that is was like 3 long songs. I couldn't tell where one ended and the other began. Metal... it all sounds the same to me.

Metal can sound different. It's just... they used the same singing style and message and sound for every song.

I mean, they're decent instrumentalists, but yeah... vocals could use some variety... and more tempo differences were needed.
