Um, what? Do you mean... like a render, or a background, or what? Please be more specific.

The idea is in the right place, and I don't doubt your knowledge, but... I've been in this spot.
Online help is so difficult to explain to someone that has no idea what they're doing. I doubt everyone who is interested (viewing other posts) will ever understand what you're trying to teach them.
If the message fails, use your power of screenshots.

Ok, please don't think I'm stupid for asking you this, but I'd help you in the same situation. I have Gimp 2 downloaded. I know how to put a picture in there, but I'm not sure how to format it. Like making it bigger or smaller, rotating it, turning it diagonally, etc.

LuigiI figured that... and I already planned on using screenshots if neccessary. @aspen I don't have GIMP on this laptop Mi Kull has, so I have to do this by memory. Sorry if it's not exact. Go to Layers or Image at the top (depending on whether you want to resize or rotate the whole image or just a layer). Under both, I believe you can find Scale Image (or Layer, etc.); use that to change the size. You can change the numbers to make it bigger or smaller. Keep the little chain next to it linked if you want the image to stay proportional. As for rotating, you should also be able to find that uner Images or Layers. If you don't necessarily want to flip it horizontally of vertically, look at your toolbar. Move your mouse pointer over each one untile you find Arbituary Rotate (or something like that). It looks like a blue blob shape with a dotted outline of it in a different position. Using that, you can click on the picture you want to rotate, and drag it to it's new position. Kara Copas~Cheerio~Your question could be answered several thousand ways. But to start off, try bucket filling with patterns. Then, expiriment with GIMP to see what you can change that into.

GIMP comes with patterns. Once you click on the bucket fill tool, you should have a box underneath (or a pop-out) that has the option for you to fill with a solid color, gradient, or pattern. Just select the one you want and click on the image to fill.
