I feel the same way too... a fan base really says alot about who they're appealing to.
And ugh... obsessed teenage girls are so annoying. It's like some of the people who love Twilight are actually sexually sparked... no, that shouldn't ever work.

(OMG, I just referred to myself as normal.)

(I've never seen you use the term OMG ever >.>)
And I guess that's why I dislike it more... people obsess over this and it's just annoying and overrated. Why must society mock me by loving things that do not deserve love?
It'd annoy me a little less if they didn't express to me how awesome Twilight was and how Edward is so perfect (even my English teacher was expressing this aloud. Disgusting.) Ugh, go masterbate or whatever you do to this book... but don't tell me anything. This book is an abomination to literature and fantasy books in general (No offence =)) and it just needs halted.
Twilight needs to go to another planet and die.

Vampires were cool in my opinion... until Twilight. Now, if I even so much as mention a vampire, people's minds just to that subject.

After seeing all these posts and threads, I'm extremely sick of Twilight. I'm really sorry that I bugged you so much about it Sheri.
Edit: I still love Twilight and all. I am sorry I did bug you so much about it Sheri. But what I'm sick and tired of is people on here putting it down and everything, when they haven't even bothered picking up the book and reading it in the first place.

People do that all the time.
Just because something is popular doesn't mean it's good....

Ok, now for some positive things on the Twilight book series. What were some parts you liked best in the first book?

I read the Twilight series, and at first I loved it, I guess it is sad and pathetic, since Bella is a character you can just relate to and put yourself in her place. Maybe that's just a little fantasy that teenage girls need sometimes, everyone wants to be wanted, loved and the way that things were working out for Bella was exciting and sweet. I was hooked after the first one, I wanted to know what happened next. And then I read about her friendship with Jacob (sorry, but i loved Jacob) and I guess I didn't notice how she was acting so stupid and sorry for herself, I just focused on the fun relationship, I like Bella better with Jacob, she was more fun, less depressing and heartsick. Around the end of the 2nd book I was getting obsessed, because while it was extremely fast reading (I probably read all these books in 6 days) it was like "oh crap, what next?" I wanted to know how things were going to end. The fourth book completely ruined the series for me... and I guess I finally realized how much of a fan fiction it really was. It was poor literature, and unrealistic... when I read the battle scene I literally said WTF?! Twilight was a fun, fantasy read for girls, to make them feel a little better while they read it. A lot of people were saying the books were awful, not true, they were just "fun books" and what really bugged me was that people hated it just because it was popular. If Harry Potter hadn't become popular I wouldn't know anything about it, and I love those books, J.K. Rowling is a way better author than Stephanie Meyer. But this is the Twilight thread, so I'm gonna go make a Harry Potter one! lol
