I read the Twilight series, and at first I loved it, I guess it is sad and pathetic, since Bella is a character you can just relate to and put yourself in her place. Maybe that's just a little fantasy that teenage girls need sometimes, everyone wants to be wanted, loved and the way that things were working out for Bella was exciting and sweet. I was hooked after the first one, I wanted to know what happened next. And then I read about her friendship with Jacob (sorry, but i loved Jacob) and I guess I didn't notice how she was acting so stupid and sorry for herself, I just focused on the fun relationship, I like Bella better with Jacob, she was more fun, less depressing and heartsick. Around the end of the 2nd book I was getting obsessed, because while it was extremely fast reading (I probably read all these books in 6 days) it was like "oh crap, what next?" I wanted to know how things were going to end. The fourth book completely ruined the series for me... and I guess I finally realized how much of a fan fiction it really was. It was poor literature, and unrealistic... when I read the battle scene I literally said WTF?! Twilight was a fun, fantasy read for girls, to make them feel a little better while they read it. A lot of people were saying the books were awful, not true, they were just "fun books" and what really bugged me was that people hated it just because it was popular. If Harry Potter hadn't become popular I wouldn't know anything about it, and I love those books, J.K. Rowling is a way better author than Stephanie Meyer. But this is the Twilight thread, so I'm gonna go make a Harry Potter one! lol Well 2 me Harry Potter books suck. I tried reading them once and it was all silly mumbo Jumbo. None of it made sense. 1 sentense was about killing some 1 the next was about a dragon. I said WTF? It was really annoying. It is just a "fan book". And Stephanie Meyer is a great author. I will say though I love the movies of Harry Potter. And the Twilight was dissapointing. It was the true book. But thats not Stephanie Meyer, or the actors fault. It was the direction. And who ever made the script. And if you liked the series so much how could you say she was a horrible author and everything cause of the last book.

No, I haven't read either. But I have friends who talk about both and I've seen the movies for them. Harry Potter has a good storyline... I can't say the same for Twilight.

She is making more books unless she desided 2 quit making them. I was watching an interview she did a while back, and she said she would be making more books. Just not in Bella's perspective. She is also coming out with Midnight Sun (Twilight in Edward's perspective) sometime I think. Just go to her website www.stepheniemeyer.com and you can read a partial rough draft of Midnight Sun there. It's very good, and I can't wait for the book to come out. I'll definitely have to buy it.

Rowling is one of the greatest authors of her time. Her books carry more than words and fantasy, they have meaning, they have inspiration. They tell you that even if the world hates you and thinks you're a liar, even if horrible things happen to you in your life, if you believe in yourself and trust your friends you can pull through. The Twilight series taught me nothing, inspired nothing... it was a fun read, a romantic drama. That silly "mumbo jumbo" is creativity and imagination.. she created the entire world, thousands of characters, all the lingo, everything... let's see your precious Stephanie do that, and I don't mean "Vampires sparkle now". I guess it all depends on if you were reading in order or not, you can't just pick up a HP book and know what's going on. Also, the first few books are from when they were 11, 12, and 13 so they're more childish. I grew up reading HP, I was the age of the characters in the book so I related to them extremely well. Also, HP isn't gender specific or age specific. Adults, teens, children, boys, and girls love the series. Whereas, Twilight... let's face it, is either for teen girls or teen gay guys. I say she was a horrible author in the last book because the last book was horrific. Everything you wanted to happen to the characters happened... all happy endings all around. No one died or suffered, the battle scene wasn't even a battle scene... it was exactly like a fan fiction you would read, and not even a good one. I wanted to see a Cullen die, it would've made it better. And just because I liked the first 3 books doesn't mean she's a great author. She's not horrible, but she's not good either - she's okay, mediocre. I can like a story without it having to be great literature, hell I can dislike a story and it be great literature! Sorry, but when you insult one of my favorite authors and book series I get upset, especially when you compare it to something like Twilight...
